Children Exposed to Family Violence
Research findings confirm that there is an overlap of child maltreatment and domestic violence in some families. Professionals who work with children and families struggle as to how best to protect children, while providing support to the parent/caregiver who is being abused.
Topics focus on:
- the effects of children exposed to family violence;
- responding to disclosure;
- the system’s response;
- safety planning; and
- when to call a child protection agency.
